What considerations has the Welsh Government made to support those with unexpected vet bills?
We have allocated more than £380 million to help vulnerable people to pay essential bills and to mitigate the impact of the crisis for disadvantaged households. We have also invested an extra £14.9m in the Discretionary Assistance Fund to support more people experiencing severe financial difficulties to access emergency financial help.
Officials are in discussion with third sector organisations to monitor the current situation and are pleased to see animal welfare groups in Wales working together to support pet owners.
