What assessment has the Minister made of the necessity of car use in rural areas?
Llwybr Newydd sets out a vision for an accessible, sustainable and efficient transport system across the whole of Wales. I provided a Written Statement on 8th February that set out the Government’s latest progress on rural transport, this included highlighting the importance of the road network in rural Wales.
All parts of Wales will need to play their part in changing the way they travel to deliver the modal shift needed to meet net zero.
We will shortly issue guidance for the development of Regional Transport Plans to Corporate Joint Committees (CJCs). Through these plans CJC’s will be able identify the different range of interventions they will make consistent with Llwybr Newydd.
