Will the Minister outline how many assessments for NHS continuing healthcare were undertaken and what was the total number deemed eligible for NHS continuing healthcare, broken down by local health board and in each of the past 5 years?
Health Boards do not routinely collate information on the total number of individuals whose health and social care needs have been assessed.
A Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) will assess for a range of needs of which one of several outcomes may be NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC). Health Boards are therefore able to provide information on the total number of individuals found to require CHC through the assessment process but are not currently able to place that number within the context of the total number of assessments.
