How is, and how will, the Welsh Government support businesses and workers who are involved in procurement to identify and understand any differences in the procurement arrangements in operation in Wales and England after the UK Procurement Bill and the Social Partnership and Public Procurement Bill (Wales) come into force?

The Welsh Government continues to engage regularly with stakeholders across Wales in relation to both Bills. Support provided to stakeholders to date includes guidance documents, regular email updates, virtual webinar sessions and in-person presentations.

The Welsh Government will be developing guidance and training to support contracting authorities, suppliers and workers as they respond to the new requirements, including specific bilingual face-to-face deep dive sessions which will align to the UK Government’s learning and development offering and will include material on the Social Partnership and Public Procurement (Wales) Bill. Technical Training in the use of the Welsh Government funded procurement systems will also be provided once the changes to the systems have been completed and tested.
