What steps is the Minister taking to streamline and improve business regulations?

Answered by Minister for Economy | Answered on 19/01/2023

Regulations associated with employment and business operation are mostly reserved and the responsibility of UK Government. When new regulations, that extend to Wales are being developed by the UK Government, Welsh Ministers would normally be engaged in the development process and be consulted on any proposed regulatory change.

Both the Senedd and the Welsh Government have competence to act in the field of  economic development and can regulate in that space as well in other areas related to business such as in agriculture and food for example. There are steps that the Government must take through the Senedd and in turn engage with those impacted by any changes.
