How much of the £90 million capital allocated towards renewable energy schemes announced by the Welsh Government in the 2022-23 budget has been spent, and on what projects?

We are investing up to £90 million capital over a period of three years, up to 2024-25. The funding will primarily be used to deliver against our commitment for an additional 100 MW of renewable generation owned by communities and public bodies by 2025.   £15 million has been allocated to this support in 2022-23. We are also exploring opportunities to develop the marine energy sector.

The Welsh Government Energy Service’s annual report provides detail of the types of projects which have been supported. Last year’s report can be accessed here: https://gov.wales/sites/default/files/publications/2022-07/welsh-government-energy-service-annual-report-2021-22.pdf  The 2022-23 report will be published next summer detailing the projects this funding supported in the current year.
