What discussions has the Minister had with stakeholders concerning the planned Welsh Language Education Bill?
The Programme for Government and the Co-operation Agreement make a commitment to introduce a Welsh Language Education Bill. We are currently in the stage of developing policy proposals. This work is being carried out in collaboration with Cefin Campbell MS, the Plaid Cymru lead designated member, as part of the Co-operation Agreement between the Welsh Government and Plaid Cymru.’
I have held discussions with a number of stakeholders in the education and Welsh language sectors to gather evidence to inform policy development on proposals for a White Paper on the Bill.
I intend to hold further meetings with stakeholders and will consult on a White Paper once proposals are in a more formative stage.
