Does the Welsh Government have targets for the number of Welsh speakers in the years and decades leading up to Cymraeg 2050?
Answered by Minister for Education and the Welsh Language | Answered on 06/12/2022
We outlined our vision for the future of our language in Cymraeg 2050, which we published in 2017. To assist us in achieving this vision, we also published a Technical report: Projection and trajectory for the number of Welsh speakers aged three and over, 2011 to 2050. We’ve said from the outset that we’ll revise our journey to Cymraeg 2050 in the light of the forthcoming Welsh language results from Census 2021.
