Will the Minister confirm how much Welsh Government funding was provided to the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service to undertake its initial one year evaluation?

Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services | Answered on 30/11/2022

£50,630 was provided to the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) Wales for the purposes of a year one service evaluation.

Costs were for Health Data Research UK staff undertaking the analysis (no SAIL databank costs were included).

In respect of the other allocations, you will be aware EMRTS is a service commissioned by the Emergency Ambulance Services Committee and receives direct allocations which cover funding for service delivery, evaluation and other activities.

We understand £137,696 was the total monetary value awarded by the NHS to EMRTS to undertake the 5 year evaluation.
