Will the Minister provide an update on the Welsh Government’s updated programme for government commitment to develop a national model for the regulation of animal welfare?

Welsh Government officials are preparing a list of animal-related registration and licensing schemes in force. We will also write to Local Authorities, the Animal Welfare Network Wales and Companion Animal Welfare Group Wales to seek their views on current licensing legislation and whether gaps exist. The outcomes of these discussions will form part of a wider public consultation in 2023.
