What assessment has the Welsh Government made on the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on pet owners in Wales?

Since November last year we have allocated more than £380 million to help vulnerable people to pay essential bills and to mitigate the impact of the crisis for disadvantaged households. We have also invested an extra £14.9m in the Discretionary Assistance Fund to support more people experiencing severe financial difficulties to access emergency financial help.

I know how important pets are to our daily lives and it is vital we do our best to care for them properly, whatever the circumstances. We are working with animal welfare Third Sector groups in Wales to support our pet owners.
