Does the Welsh Government have any plans to increase funding for research and innovation in the next Welsh Government budget?

The loss of EU Funds has a disproportionate effect in certain areas of spending, particularly Research and Innovation. UK Government decisions mean replacement funds are not allocated to Welsh Government as EU funds were. Nevertheless, we remain committed to fostering Research, Development and Innovation, signalled by the publication of our new Innovation Strategy early next year, setting out a cross-government approach to leveraging RD&I funding.
