What discussions has the Minister had with the UK Government about potential funding for offshore wind farms around the south Wales coast?

Answered by Minister for Climate Change | Answered on 09/12/2022

The key investments which will unlock the full economic potential of floating offshore wind in the Celtic Sea are in the port infrastructure. We have been working with the port operators and industry to encourage strategic collaborations that maximise opportunities available to our economy. We are also supporting our ports in the process of securing funding from the UK Government’s £160m Floating Offshore Wind Manufacturing Investment Scheme.

The Welsh Government sits on the Floating Offshore Wind Taskforce, which is jointly led by UK Government and Renewable UK, and the Offshore Wind Acceleration Taskforce, which is led by BEIS and UK Government’s Offshore wind champion Tim Pick.
