Will the Minister outline what measures are being considered by the Welsh Government to improve standards at the Grange University Hospital's accident and emergency department?

The national Six Goals programme has been established, with £25m recurrent funding, to deliver transformational change across urgent and emergency care services in Wales.

As part of the programme, £3m has been made available to Aneurin Bevan University Health Board this year to support delivery of twelve hours a day, seven day a week same day emergency care services at the Grange and Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr, and the implementation of two urgent primary care centres in the region.

We have also provided an additional £260k to the health board for improvements to its emergency department waiting areas this winter. This funding will help to improve the patient experience through more comfortable seating and enable clearer communication through new messaging ‘bars’ in the waiting areas.
