Will the Minister outline what improvements have been made at the Grange University Hospital to improve outcomes for patients since June 2022?

Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services | Answered on 22/11/2022

Like all hospitals across Wales and the UK, the Grange University Hospital continues to face extraordinary challenges due to staff shortages, increased demand, and the continuing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on people’s health.

In terms of patient outcomes, management information provided by Aneurin Bevan University Health Board suggests the health board has the second lowest predicted mortality in Wales when measured in terms of the Risk Adjusted Mortality Index.

However, the health board is working hard to continually improve all its services and the experience of patients who use them.
