Will the Minister provide an update on the Homes for Ukraine Scheme?
As of 8 November, 6,103 individuals have arrived in Wales under the Homes for Ukraine scheme. This includes 3,124 arriving directly into individual Welsh households and 2,979 who have been sponsored by the Welsh Government. Our ‘Team Wales’ approach has brought together Welsh Government and local government, health boards, the Third Sector, and many others, to support integration with Welsh communities.
We are seeking urgent confirmation from the UK Government that adequate funding will be made available to continue to support Ukrainians who are yet to arrive; to support integration measures for Year 2 and 3 of the Ukraine Schemes; to ensure funding parity across the three Ukraine Schemes; and to deliver a cost-of-living uplift to the host ‘thank you’ payment.
