National Minimum Standards (NMS) already exist within numerous Regulations made under several Acts providing the regulatory baseline for agriculture. Officials are exploring whether additional primary powers may be required to better manage the regulatory regime going forward. Relevant amendments to existing NMS regulations are also being considered to support the introduction of the Sustainable Farming Scheme.
