What is the Welsh Government doing to support children with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)?

Answered by Deputy Minister for Mental Health and Wellbeing | Answered on 21/10/2022

We continue to prioritise mental health and wellbeing. In 2022-23 we are investing an extra £50m, which is in addition to the more than £760m, which is ring-fenced for NHS mental health care and services.

This funding supports priority areas set out in the 2019-22 Together for Mental Health Delivery Plan, including child and adolescent mental health services and psychological therapies. We have invested in a Wales-wide offer of online cognitive behavioural therapy, available through Silvercloud, which includes a specific obsessive compulsive disorder module.

We will consider what further action is necessary to strengthen access and support for specific mental health conditions, including OCD and will engage with key stakeholder groups as part of this work.
