What funding does the Welsh Government provide to local authorities for the delivery of Changing Places fully accessible toilets?
The Welsh Government does not have a specific fund for the delivery of Changing Places Toilets (CPT).
Our existing funding programmes have and can support the delivery of CPT where they meet the fund criteria. These include the Transforming Towns Placemaking Grant, which is available 2022-25, and supports a range of actions in town centres, one of which is Toilet Provision. Where a project is tourism based, the Brilliant Basics tourism fund can also support the provision of a CPT.
In terms of ongoing maintenance, Local Authorities in Wales have the freedom to utilise monies set aside in the Revenue Support Grant, following the transfer of the Public Facilities Grant Scheme funding as appropriate in their area.
