Will the Welsh Government publish legal advice relating to supporting the COVID-19 Bereaved Families for Justice Cymru group’s application to be a core participant in the UK-wide COVID inquiry?
Applications for core participant status are the sole responsibility of the independent Chair to the Inquiry. They are determined in accordance with the statutory authority vested in the Chair by the Inquiry Rules 2006. These are not matters for the Welsh Government, which itself was required to make an application for core participant status under the same process. I note the Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice Cymru group has been designated as a core participant for Module 1 and the Welsh Government welcomes this designation.
