What steps have been taken by the Welsh Government to encourage more women and young people into the farming profession?

The Welsh Government continues to provide support and encouragement for women, young entrants and those who want to enter the agricultural industry through programmes such as Farming Connect and Venture. All eligible new entrants are also able to apply for any agricultural support schemes, as they become available. In the future, the proposed Sustainable Farming Scheme will be available to all types of farm and will support new entrants to enter the industry and establish sustainable businesses.
