What discussions have the Welsh Government had with HM Treasury regarding the need to review and increase the approved mileage allowance payment in light of the current cost-of-living pressures?

My officials have raised the issue of tax free mileage allowances with HMT and HMRC and further discussions are planned. I intend to write to Treasury Ministers shortly to repeat my calls for the UK Government to focus on the tools it has at its disposal with tax and benefit levers, to support people through the cost of living crisis.
