What support is available from the Welsh Government to landlords to help them prepare for the full implementation of the Renting Homes Act (Wales) 2016?

Detailed guidance on all of the major changes resulting from the Act is available.  This includes downloadable model contracts to help landlords comply with the new legislation as well as easy-to-read guides to the contracts themselves.  https://gov.wales/renting-homes-housing-law-changing

There is an ongoing communications and awareness-raising campaign to support implementation. This has included Rent Smart Wales issuing email bulletins to all landlords on particular topics, such as the new fitness for human habitation obligation.

My officials have also attended events organised by bodies representing landlords and letting agents to raise awareness and respond to specific questions.

During the remaining period leading up to implementation on 1 December, there will be an increase in communications activity focused on tenants and the wider public.
