Will the Counsel General provide a breakdown of costs for the Welsh Government's legal challenges against the UK Government over the last six years, including the United Kingdom Internal Market Act 2020?

Answered by Counsel General and Minister for the Constitution | Answered on 02/09/2022

The Welsh Government is often served with proceedings brought by, or against, the UK Government.  However, there is only one occasion that the Welsh Government has instigated legal proceedings against the UK Government over the past six years.   Those proceedings were brought against the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and concerned the United Kingdom Internal Market Act 2020. The cost associated with the proceedings is £132,283.67 to date.
