When will the Welsh Government review the Microchipping of Dogs (Wales) Regulations 2015?

Our priorities for animal welfare are set out in our Animal Welfare Plan for Wales 2021-26. We are working with other administrations to consider the effectiveness of the existing dog microchipping requirements and a review into the effectiveness of the legislation across England, Scotland and Wales was published in December 2021. We are considering how we can improve the Microchipping of Dogs (Wales) Regulations 2015, including enforcement and database management. We will consult on any proposed amendments to the Regulations.
