What steps is the Government taking to increase the take-up of cycling in Wales, and what plans does the government have to support people in purchasing bicycles?

For 2022/23 we have allocated over £50million for cycle infrastructure and we will increase the funding level in the following two years.

We have been running cycling programmes linked to schools for many years, including the Active Journeys programme which we are now complementing by developing a dedicated programme for the development of active travel school plans, as well as providing funding for National Standards Cycle Training.

To improve access to cycles, we are providing funding to local authorities for public bike share schemes and school bike fleets.
