Will the Government provide details of the effectiveness of the Single Cancer Pathway since the last progress report in 2020?

Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services | Answered on 08/08/2022

The suspected cancer pathway was introduced to consolidate the two original cancer waiting time pathways into one consistent measure; to reflect the real experience of patients by removing hidden waits and pathway suspensions to accurately record the waiting time; and to start the cancer pathway when a person’s cancer was first suspected rather than when the referral was received or a decision to treat was made. It has achieved all three of these intentions.
