How much funding does the Government receive from apprenticeship levy payments made by businesses operating in Wales?

Answered by Minister for Economy | Answered on 21/07/2022

The apprenticeship levy was imposed on employers in Wales by the UK Government and is collected from employers by HMRC.  The overall apprentice levy allocation that the Welsh Government receives from the UK Government is arrived at through the Barnett formula, Welsh Ministers then allocate resources in its budget according to Welsh priorities. Over the next three years we will be investing £366m to deliver 125,000 all-age apprenticeships across Wales.
