What plans do the Welsh Government have to market Welsh food and drink at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar?
The Welsh Government Doha office is currently engaging with a range of key food and drink stakeholders from Qatar on opportunities to promote Welsh food and drink during the FIFA World Cup.
To support this, Welsh Government has commissioned an e-brochure for the Qatar market to highlight key messages regarding the Welsh food and drink industry.
The FIFA World Cup is also a key theme for the Food and Drink Wales Export Cluster and will promote the wider opportunities to encourage export companies to develop collaborative marking campaigns.
The availability of Welsh Lamb has been growing in Qatar, across both retail and hospitality, and the FIFA World Cup is a global platform to build on this. Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC) are developing their plans to promote Welsh Lamb out in Qatar and Welsh Government are in regular dialogue over support.
