Further to Plenary on 7 June 2022, will the First Minister outline the number of children on the child protection register that were not looked after by local authorities in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021?

This information is available from the Children Receiving Care and Support Census data collection.

However, this collection only includes those children who have a care and support plan at 31 March where the plan has been in place for at least three months. Those children who are on the child protection register at 31 March who were not looked after can be identified by the Child Protection Register cohort within the data.

A breakdown for the number of children included in the Children Receiving Care and Support Census data is available on StatsWales here: https://statswales.gov.wales/v/LmsO

Data at 31 March 2021 has not yet been published.
