Will the Minister confirm what new business outcomes were achieved as a result of the Ministerial overseas visit to Qatar?
It is a little soon to provide detailed information as officials are continuing to work alongside each company to ensure they are able to capitalise on the opportunities identified. However, I am aware the businesses have already secured new deals as a result of the visit along with export support from the Welsh Government. Commercial sensitivities prevent me from describing the exact nature and value of the deals.
As referenced in my written statement of 1 June, I met Qatar Airways' Group chief executive during my visit with senior executives from Cardiff Airport and the British Embassy to discuss the resumption of the airline's Doha-Cardiff service. This was a positive meeting, that reinforced the relationship and was part of our efforts to enhance business connectivity to Wales.
