When will the new COVID-19 vaccines developed by Valneva and Novavax be available in Wales?

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Authority (MHRA) approved the Novavax and the Valneva vaccines for use in the UK on 3rd February 2022 and the 14th April 2022 respectively.

Wales, like the other UK nations, is guided by the recommendations of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) regarding which vaccines to deploy in the COVID-19 vaccination programme. To date, the JCVI has yet to recommend either of these vaccines for use in this programme.
