When will the implementation plan to support the Quality Statement for Cancer be published?

Quality Statements guide planning by NHS bodies as set out in the National Clinical Framework:

Health boards, trusts and special health authorities must respond to the Quality Statement for Cancer through the Integrated Medium Term Planning process. In addition, I published our programme for transforming and modernising planned care in Wales on the 26 April, which includes important actions related to cancer:

In support of the local and national planning, the Wales Cancer Network has an important series of enabling actions, such as the development, maintenance and dissemination of nationally agreed pathways. The Wales Cancer Network Board agreed its plan to deliver these enabling actions in December 2021.

I have also asked the Wales Cancer Network Board to develop an NHS Cancer Services Action Plan to bring together this planning intent into one public document. I expect to see a draft of this plan in the coming months and anticipate publication later in quarter three of 2022.
