What plans does Welsh Government have to expand vegetable production in Wales?

Answered by Minister for Rural Affairs and North Wales, and Trefnydd | Answered on 29/04/2022

On 31 March, I announced £227 million of funding in support for Wales’ rural economy.[1] This includes support for two horticulture schemes, one for new entrants into the sector and one for existing growers. Both schemes are intended to support increased efficiency and productivity. The Horticulture Development Scheme for existing growers is currently open for applications,[2] and the Horticulture Start Up Scheme is due to open in May.
