What is the Welsh Government doing to protect the mental health of those working in the tourism sector?

Answered by Minister for Economy | Answered on 18/04/2022

Throughout the pandemic the impact of its effects on the mental health of those working in the tourism sector, including hospitality and events, was a key feature of regular discussions with our stakeholders. Working with our network of industry partners, every opportunity has been taken to signpost to the broad range of support that is in place.  For example, Business Wales provides a comprehensive listing of mental health services that are accessible for SMEs, both owners and staff members.

Visit Wales regularly highlights these services through its industry database of 20,000 contacts as well as drawing attention to dates, such as World Mental Health Day, in order to keep the options for assistance visible to businesses and individuals working in the industry. Our current stakeholder groups also provide the opportunity to raise issues regularly and Visit Wales will continue to ensure that support options are featured prominently in industry communications.
