What is the Welsh Government doing to promote and encourage domestic tourism during the remainder of 2022?
Our ambition is to grow tourism by extending the season (promoting Wales during less busy times of the year) highlighting areas of Wales which are quieter and have capacity and encouraging visitors to spend more when here.
Moving into spring, the work of Visit Wales will focus on re-building consumer confidence, supporting the hospitality industry to recruit and targeting those who may have visited Wales for the first time in the last two years, to return. Visit Wales will also be partnering with Superfast Broadband Wales, on training for industry, using digital to retain and retarget those visitors. Throughout, activity will be in place to ensure that taking a holiday in Wales is front of mind for our citizens and work with tour operators, bringing business to Wales, will continue to provide solid foundations beyond 2022.
