What consideration has the Welsh Government given to providing free dental treatment to cancer patients?

In considering whether to exempt certain groups of people from NHS dental charges, we would consider the degree of benefit it would bring to that group and whether creating a new exemption would set a precedent or consequences for charges for other services or groups of people with a specific health conditions.

Dental charges in Wales are significantly lower than in England. All children and a third of adults are exempt from paying NHS dental charges. Help is also available via the Help with Health Costs scheme.

I have recently agreed that for the second consecutive year, there will be no increase in dental charges from April.
