Will the Minister provide an update on the Code of Practice for the Welfare of Gamebirds Reared for Sporting Purposes?

We have made a commitment to restrict the use of cages for farmed animals. The review of our Code of Practice for the Welfare of Gamebirds Reared for Sporting Purposes will remain on hold while we work with other administrations to examine the evidence around the use of cages for breeding gamebirds. There will not be any changes to the Code of Practice, or to welfare legislation, without consultation with stakeholders.
