What steps has the Minister taken to ensure that refugees arriving from Ukraine, Afghanistan or elsewhere are provided with suitable long-term accommodation?

Wales remains committed to its ambition of being a Nation of Sanctuary. We will do all we can to ensure all refugees are able to reach safety and receive a warm welcome.

We work closely with a wide range of organisations and with local authorities to ensure accommodation needs are met.

Our Nation of Sanctuary plan sets out the actions we have in place to reduce the inequalities faced by these communities, these actions include accommodation.

We are proud of the work in Wales over many years to support those fleeing war and persecution. We stand ready to work with the UK Government, our key partners and across the UK to ensure a safe haven for those fleeing the devastation and horror being inflicted on the Ukrainian people.

We are urgently preparing to support refugees from Ukraine and are in close dialogue with Welsh local government, the third sector. I refer you to the Written Statements published by the First Minister and myself on 16 March, 15 March and 1 March.
