What is the timetable for enabling Covid-19 vaccinations received outside the UK to be registered on NHS Wales systems so that COVID passes and boosters can be given to those who have received their vaccinations abroad?

Neither England nor Wales currently have an automatic process for uploading evidence of vaccinations administered overseas into our respective databases and the NHS COVID Pass service.

My officials are working with a Welsh delivery partner to deliver this for Welsh residents. We are aiming to launch this soon and current delivery is expected in February. Updates will be provided on our Welsh Government website, which can be found here Get your NHS COVID Pass | GOV.WALES.

The COVID-19 Vaccination programme in Wales is open to everyone identified by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation as eligible, regardless of status or length of stay in Wales. Anyone who is not registered with a GP surgery or does not have an NHS number can still be offered a booster vaccination by either using the walk in centres or by contacting their local health board to arrange an appointment.
