What is the Welsh Government doing to increase the frequency of allergy clinics so that clinically vulnerable allergy sufferers can get their booster vaccine more quickly?

Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services | Answered on 19/01/2022

All adults in Wales have now been offered a vaccine booster.

In response to the need for generic allergy advice to assist clinicians with their decisions on vaccination, the Welsh Government continues to fund a Covid-19 Vaccine Allergy Service. The service provides generic allergy advice to all health boards across Wales and a single point of referral into the specialist service and offers equity of Covid-19 vaccine take-up for both 1st, 2nd doses and boosters.

The agreed pathway for accessing the allergy service is via the GP. Once they are referred, under normal circumstances, enquiries for specialist allergy advice and adverse reaction advice related to Covid-19 vaccination will be answered within 7 working days.
