How much of the £103 million announced to help schools through the pandemic will be spent on improving ventilation and other safety measures?

Of the £103 million funding that I announced last week, £50 million will be made available to local authorities through the Sustainable Communities for Learning programme. This funding will help local authorities carry out priority capital repair and improvement works to schools, specifically addressing health and safety matters in the first instance. Including work towards improving ventilation should they need additional funding over and above their Ventilation grant allocation that I announced in October last year (£3.31 million for schools, colleges and universities).
