What steps have the Welsh Government undertaken to review the long-term capital funding needs of the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board with regards to estate upgrades?
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is responsible for managing its estate and is developing a number of business cases that will be submitted to the Welsh Government for consideration.
These include schemes for the redevelopment of Wrexham Maelor Hospital and a fire safety and infrastructure compliance scheme at Ysbyty Gwynedd. These schemes will help to ensure the health board is statutorily compliant in respect of fire safety and other statutory health and safety requirements.
Welsh Government officials will continue to work closely with the health board to understand its priorities, including those linked to recovery from the pandemic.
