Will the Minister confirm that cancer treatments will not be postponed or cancelled due to staff shortages or other pressures in the NHS this winter?
Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services | Answered on 02/11/2021
Our guidance to the NHS is clear that cancer care is an essential service, which should continue throughout the winter. Operational pressures, which are impossible to predict, could result in some postponements.
The NHS Wales Choices Framework will be available to health boards and they will use this to ensure any postponements or disruption to services are kept to a minimum.
