Will the Minister provide further detail of the remit of the proposed Wales rail board which will include representatives from both the Welsh Government and the UK Government?
Following the UK Government’s response to the WAC report published on the 16th September my officials have engaged with Department for Transport Officials to progress discussions on how a “Senior Level Board” will be established. The terms of reference are still being developed, however I would hope that the first meeting of this new structure will take place early in the New Year.
I have always stressed in my meetings with UK Ministers that this arrangement must be based on real partnership and collaboration to ensure that the rail infrastructure needs in Wales are identified, agreed, and delivered.
