Will the Minister provide a progress report on its Backing Local Firms Fund, including the money spent and its success in meeting key performance indicators?

The backing Local Firms Fund is a new initiative, introduced in this Programme for Government. The Fund will provide support for Welsh firms and help to strengthen sectors within the Foundational Economy in Wales. My officials have been engaging with stakeholders and developing proposals to introduce the Fund and I will shortly be considering these proposals with the aim of launching the scheme this autumn, including details of its value and its intended impact.
