What are the Government's plans for developing more Welsh and bilingual apprenticeships over the coming year?

In our Programme for Government, we have committed to extending the role of the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol so that it can support the post-16 sector to build capacity and provide enhanced support to learners. In addition, in the Cymraeg 2050 Work Programme 2021-26 aimed at achieving a target of a million Welsh speakers, we have committed to “develop proposals for guaranteeing that 16 to 25 year olds can have free access to Welsh for Adults courses”. This will provide every young person with the same opportunity to become a confident speaker.
