What support is in place for people with the condition essential tremor?

Health boards and trusts are responsible for planning how services are delivered at a local level and support and advice is available through general neurology and neuro-rehabilitation services.

The Welsh Government is continuing to work with the Neurological Conditions Implementation Group (NCIG) to improve services for all those with neurological conditions across Wales, including essential tremors. In March, we published the National Clinical Framework (NCF). The NCF describes how clinical services should be provided over the next decade and how we can better support system planning and quality improvement.

The NCF is supported by a range of tools and enablers including quality statements, which set out high level policy intentions and describe the standards and outcomes expected of clinical services. We are currently working with the NCIG and the Wales Neurological Alliance to develop a quality statement to set out our refreshed expectations for neurological conditions.
