Will the Minister provide a timeline on when priority groups are expected to receive an invitation for the COVID-19 booster vaccination?

Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services | Answered on 11/10/2021

Priority groups are already receiving an invitation for their booster vaccine. People living and working in residential care homes for older people and our frontline health and social care staff began to receive their booster vaccinations on 16 September. In line with JCVI advice, the programme will be extended across Wales to everyone over 50 and to those aged 16 and over with underlying health conditions.

All eligible people aged 16 and over previously offered a COVID-19 vaccine in priority groups one to nine will be offered a booster vaccine a minimum of six months after their second vaccine dose. This interval will govern how quickly the booster can be offered.
