The Welsh Government is currently investing £1,020,000 on 9 flood alleviation projects in Brecon and Radnorshire.

Business Cases are being developed for flood alleviation projects at Pontfaen, which aims to reduce flood risk to 18 homes, and Felindre, to benefit 15 homes.

The Welsh Government is investing £200,742 on the construction of the flood alleviation project at Llansypyddid, reducing flood risk to 12 homes, and £271,621 at Talgarth which will reduce flood risk to 7 homes.

The Welsh Government is also investing £49,300 in two ‘Small Scale Schemes’ at Talybont-on-Usk and Talgarth, benefitting 4 homes and 2 businesses.

The Welsh Government is investing £150,000 in a Natural Flood Management (NFM) project at the Upper River Teme catchment area - upstream of Knighton. This innovative project will alleviate flood risk to 41 homes and 9 businesses in Knighton and upstream communities. Recent flood events in these communities resulted in 18 homes and 9 businesses experiencing internal flooding.

This NFM project will also reduce flood risk to two sewage treatment works within the catchment, parts of the railway network, numerous road networks and a large quantity of agricultural land.

Natural Resources Wales (NRW) is currently undertaking approximately £200,000 of maintenance works to the main flood wall in Glasbury and delivering a £50,000 Property Flood Resilience project in Llanelwedd.

NRW is also undertaking maintenance work on Disserth and Esgair Carnau gauging stations, which help our understanding of flood risk to the local areas.
